I created this image to illustrate the signs of distress and body talk school staff may see when a child or young person maybe being tortured and captive at home.

I included this image in a co-presentation with Jeanne Sarson & Linda MacDonald entitled “No longer invisible: Families that torture, traffic, and exploit their girl child” in April 2016 at the International Institute for the Sociology of Law, Onati, Spain.

This was a two day workshop organised by Jackie Jones (UK professor of law) and John Winterdyk (Canada) entitled ‘Child Trafficking: the Challenges for Europe. Rescuing children from human trafficking, capacity building and protecting the rights of victims’
